With less than two weeks to go, California’s Prop 2 is at the top of Farm Sanctuary’s priority list. We have been a leading supporter of this initiative from the very beginning, and we know that passage of this modest proposal will impact not only the lives of 20 million animals living in California, but also the future direction of factory farming. We’re not asking for the world, we’re only asking that breeding pigs, egg laying hens and calves be allowed to extend their limbs and turn around. However, big agribusiness from across the country is fighting us every step of the way, because they know that if we win, it’s a death knell for factory farming confinement across the country. We must win … that’s why we need your help to get out the truth, and get out the vote.

Near San Francisco? 
The Truth Behind Factory Farming truck will be canvassing the city and your help is needed! We are planning evening leafleting events throughout the city to provide public viewings of actual footage of factory farm conditions, shot by Farm Sanctuary investigators and others. Near Los Angeles?
If you are planning to be in the heart of tinsel town this fall - you are officially invited to our own Halloween trick-or-treat event. Don your pro-Prop 2 costume (perhaps a friendly chicken, a mother pig or an animal-loving shepherd) and join us in Hollywood as we hand out vegan candy and YES on 2 information to the public. No matter where you live, tonight (Friday, October 24) you can catch Richard Greene’s national radio show “Clout” on Air America featuring Gene Baur, president and co-founder of Farm Sanctuary. He and an HSUS representative will hold an important one-hour debate with the opposition tonight at 6:00 p.m. PT (9:00 p.m. ET). Find a station in your area here or listen online.

If you live near Chico join Gene Baur and Farm Sanctuary staff for a lively discussion about the YES! ON PROP 2 Campaign. Also sitting on the panel will be representatives from Northern California’s animal agriculture industry who stand in opposition to the measure.
