With more than a dozen housing barns, hundreds of
acres of pasture and round-the-clock attention, Farm
Sanctuary shelters are internationally recognized
for quality care, as well as for our rescue,
rehabilitation and placement efforts. With your help,
we have been able to respond to urgent cruelty cases
and provide rescue and shelter services for thousands
of abused and neglected farm animals. This critical
work must continue, and we can’t do it without you.

Farm Sanctuary’s dedicated shelter staff - which
includes cleaners, feeders, placement staff, caregivers,
and live-in emergency on-call staff - provide for the
ongoing needs of the animals, maintain our extensive
facilities, and continue to respond to an overwhelming
number of new calls to help animals in urgent need.

Caring for the more than 1,000 farm animals at our shelters requires enormous resources. We use 450 tons
of straw for bedding and $80,000 worth of hay to feed
our sheep, goats and cattle, and all the feed, medical
care, infrastructure, and animal care needs for our
rescued residents will amount to more than $1.5 million this year.
