Sign Farm Sanctuary's Pledge

Dear friend,

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. But in the case of Abby sheep, it takes two pictures to tell the tale of her incredible journey from near death to new life.

As you can see from her “before” and “after” photos, Abby is barely recognizable from the sick and starving animal Farm Sanctuary rescued earlier this year.

She is living proof of how caring friends like you are changing farm animals’ lives, and I hope she will inspire you to sign Farm Sanctuary’s pledge to give more abused farm animals a second chance at their best lives possible.

Abby was one of 25 sheep Farm Sanctuary rescued from a horrific California sheep dairy. The bodies of 50 dead sheep were strewn about the property. Our vets later confirmed that they had starved to death.

The survivors were dangerously malnourished. Abby was just skin and bones. She also had multiple infections and a form of viral pneumonia that, if left untreated, can cause wasting and paralysis. She had untreated mastitis and her udders were full of pus, causing her unimaginable pain.

Abby needed a second chance — and Farm Sanctuary gave her one. Please sign our pledge to speak out against factory farming cruelty and give more farm animals like Abby the happy lives they deserve.

Farm Sanctuary took in Abby and 24 other sheep seized from the farm. Because of the abuse she suffered, Abby is on antibiotics and painkillers and needs to have her udders flushed out every day.

But she and her companions are getting stronger, putting on weight, and loving their new lives at Farm Sanctuary! Today, Abby looks nothing like the sick, skinny, and frightened sheep who we welcomed to our shelter just a few months ago.

As Farm Sanctuary’s President and Co-founder, I get to witness miracles like this every day. In every pasture and barn, I see formerly abused farm animals who many thought would never recover. But now they are living with strength, joy, and freedom.

Everything we did for Abby was made possible because of your belief that every farm animal should be treated as someone, not something. Please affirm that belief by signing Farm Sanctuary’s pledge to be a voice for abused and exploited farm animals today.

Thanks in advance,

Gene Baur
President and Co-founder

P.S. I hope that these “before” and “after” photos of Abby sheep inspire you to make even more life-changing transformations possible. Please sign Farm Sanctuary’s pledge to help more rescued farm animals who have known only cruelty, pain, and loss find lives filled with love and joy.
