Join the Sanctuary Sustainer Challenge

Dear friend of farm animals,

Make monthly gifts to help farm animals.

Forced pregnancy is business as usual in the dairy industry. Cows endure a constant cycle of pregnancy and birth in order to continue producing milk.

Farmers usually rely on artificial insemination to keep this cycle going. But at the farm where the diminutive Adrienne was living, the farmer kept a bull for breeding. Sadly, this enormous bull broke Adrienne’s hip and it went undiagnosed and untreated.

Adrienne spent months suffering from a broken hip with no treatment. Finally, the farmer’s wife recognized there was a problem and she called Farm Sanctuary. We rushed Adrienne to veterinarians at Cornell University’s Nemo Farm Animal Hospital, but it was too late.

Adrienne’s bones had fused, so she lost the normal use of her back legs and her hip was no longer fixable. Worse, she was pregnant and could not carry her calf to term the way her hip had healed.

After all that suffering, Adrienne deserved a new beginning, and Farm Sanctuary is giving it to her. But her damaged hip will require specialized care for her entire life, and our ability to provide it depends on a reliable source of funding.

That’s why I hope you’ll join Farm Sanctuary’s Sanctuary Sustainers monthly giving program. Through our Sanctuary Sustainer Challenge, we’ve set a goal of inspiring 300 members to become monthly donors by March 31.

For just $10, $15, or $25 a month (less than $1 a day), you’ll help us reach our Sanctuary Sustainer Challenge goal and become a dependable part of Farm Sanctuary’s work on behalf of suffering farm animals — rescuing the abused, caring for the sick and injured, educating the public, and advocating for an end to the horrors of factory farming month after month.

For animals like Adrienne, your monthly pledge will help provide the specialized care they need to be able to move about and enjoy life.

Right now, Adrienne is living with another bovine friend close to her own small size — Valentino, who was born with leg deformities. These two individuals seemed to recognize their common challenges, and they bonded right away. They are very happy together!

You can add to their happiness by helping to ensure their lifelong care. Be one of 300 members to pledge a monthly gift by March 31 through the Sanctuary Sustainer Challenge!

It would be a pleasure to welcome you to this very special group of supporters.

Yours for farm animals,

Gene Baur
